On Saturday, March 1, 2014, I will participating in the Spin4Kids Spin-a-Thon benefiting the GoodLife Kids Foundation. I will be spinning at the Bramalea City Centre GoodLife Fitness location.
All of the funds raised will support the GoodLife Kids Foundation Grant Program. The program helps fund recipients like Girls on the Run and Big Brothers Big Sisters. These recipients help children between the ages of 4-14 develop long term habits of physical activity. So far the program has helped about 200,000 children get more active!
I have been a GoodLife member for many years and I volunteer with the GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon. The Spin4Kids event will be a great opportunity to fund raise on behalf a company that has played a major role in helping me achieve my weight loss goals.
A well balanced diet and at least one hour of moderate to vigorous-intensity physical activity is essential for a child’s healthy growth and development. (I also believe that music education is a key player in childhood development).
I believe I have done a total of 3 spinning classes in my life. So this will be a great way to start spinning again – which is a great way to burn an average of 675 calories per class, increase my cardiovascular strength and tone my bottom half.
I have created an initial fundraising goal of $125. I am looking forward to surpassing this goal with some fun ways of raising money (I’ll be posting any fundraising fun on my Facebook and Instagram pages). Please click here to visit my sponsorship page and donate generously! You will receive a charitable income tax receipt for your donation of $20 or more.
